Thought the product worked ok. Loss of air though due to bad contact as the other reviews said.
This is the one. It is accurate, realiable and serves the purpose.Just don't drop it, don't put it near water or in the hands of young children.you'll have to buy a second one.which is our case. In the world of Digital Tire Gauge, you can spend hours searching for a good one. My husband loves it.
From my experience, the cheap pencil style, spring, gauges lose their accuracy by the second time you use them (6 months later). I do not know a good way to test the accuracy.
It does not have a bleed valve, so if you register more psi than you want, you have to remove the gauge, and bleed off some air then re-test, rebleed. There are better designs, and better products, but probably not at this price. The o-rings I had were too thick, and it looks like it may be difficult to cut some rubber into the right size.
Some reviews suggest adding an o-ring or rubber insert to help it seal against the stem. You have to hold it exactly parallel, and press hard.
I bought this after discovering that my older dial gauge was not accurate. I just dont know how long this gauge will last.
I find it seats against the stem about as well as any of the other gauges I have used.
It works consistently with much less fiddling and re-measuring than the pencil gauge so I'm happy. After my old pencil gauge failed, I picked this digital gauge as an affordable replacement. Thanks for the reviews from others that helped me to determine my selection.
It was an 11th hour order, & was waiting for it to arrive at my GO date but, gladly it came. I just noticed that the display was fading, looks like it's running out of battery yet, the reading was still accurate.
lol Then later I noticed that there were no changes, the display was still fading & the flashlight doesn't work, sad to say It came defective.
When I arrived, it took me some time (3 months) to check it again to buy it a new battery (energizer). I think I have the newer (defective) model.
I bought this gauge when I moved in from Maine to Missouri. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to check for defects because I was running out of time for my trip.
I wish I could return it but it's a little too late for that.Despite all the issues, the good news is it still reads accurately & doesn't need an O'ring because the tip was rubberized.
